Annie will be offering predominantly restorative yoga to compliment the hustle and bustle of modern living:
Restorative Yoga
As the name implies, Restorative yoga is linked to rest. In Restorative Yoga, we create the conditions for the profound intelligence of the body to restore itself.
We use props to enable positions of ease to facilitate well-being and relaxation. Deep, conscious rest is what happens after relaxation – where healing begins.
Benefits:
Encourages deep relaxation and restoration
Facilitates the body to rejuvenate, recalibrate and return to a natural balance
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep as it is sometimes known, is a simple and an immensely powerful practice. Resting comfortably in a suitable position, yoga Nidra takes you on a guided journey into a meditative-like experience which is deeply restful and restorative. Combined with Restorative yoga as an excellent way to wind-down even further.
Benefits:
Encourages deep relaxation and restoration
Improves mental and emotional well-being
Enhances your capacity to rest and promotes better sleep
Yin Yoga
A slow and deliberate class where we use props to help cultivate stillness within different postures. We stay in each posture to release tension and to work more deeply on unravelling connective tissue and improving energy flows.
Yin Yoga is a very good way to complement “yang” (higher energy, faster-paced) styles of fitness such as working out, running, cycling, boxing, ashtanga yoga, etc., because it brings a contrasting and helpful balance.
Benefits:
Gently releases tension
Stills and calms the mind
A little bit about Annie
I’m Annie, my experience of yoga started when a friend who taught encouraged me to give it a go. After a little while, I decided to try it and see what it was like. I have now practised for well over 20 years and am still learning – I know just how much yoga has helped me, physically, mentally and spiritually, especially during the tough times that we all experience in life the Yoga I offer is all about improving your well-being.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me exploring the countryside with my dog, reading, boxing, connecting with friends, listening to music, cooking and trying to make the most of life.
I’m excited to be offering small semi private classes and one to one coaching at HealthTribe for people of all fitness levels, including complete beginners. I always encourage everyone to listen to their own body, first and foremost, and I offer alternatives to suit every body. I strive to make you feel welcome, comfortable and safe so that you can enjoy your practice and even have some fun along the way.
